The comma is probably the most-used punctuation mark, but most students tend to use it incorrectly! This results in run-on sentences, choppy writing and awkward syntax. The semicolon, on the other hand, is probably the most under-used punctuation mark. Incorrect usage of the comma is tied to a lack of understanding on how to use semicolons. Thus students might use a comma where a semicolon is more appropriate. Correct usage of the semicolon shows advanced writing ability. In this class we are going to learn how to use comma's and semicolon's correctly and then practice some so we can perfect our usage of both!
