I will provide copies for each student of the vocabulary and sentences for homework, as well as a copy of the slide show. Students need to supply a dedicated notebook for transcribing their vocabulary charts and translations. They may also choose to purchase an inexpensive Latin dictionary (~$ 3 for used ~$18 for new on Amazon for the Pocket Oxford Latin dictionary) OR use the free web source - Latin Wiktionary.

The two Latin authors' excerpts I am using, Horace and Catullus, have been thoroughly vetted and are appropriate for this age range. Both authors have written adult themes in other works, as is common for ancient authors, but these are extremely tame.
I have created this curriculum based on my own Latin studies, and draw from Wheelock's 7th edition Latin text book, Cambridge Latin I, Minimus 1, and the Oxford Latin dictionary. I also suggest downloading a free Latin dictionary (or you can buy one if you so choose - they range from very inexpensive to hundred of dollars - I do no suggest buying an expensive Latin dictionary at this point. I only bought mine while in college) OR utilizing Latin wiktionary (a free web resource) and I offer the URL during class. Latin Wiktionary is phenomenal. It not only suggests a few of the definitions, but students can see all the conjugation/declension endings for each verb tense/mood/person and gender/person.
