Students will receive 45 minutes of one on one instruction in reading comprehension to help improve reading skills that may have been lost during the past year. Topics will include phonics, sentence structure, and reading comprehension skills such as main idea and details, cause and effect, inferencing, and other interesting topics. I will teach each session using engaging slides, videos, worksheets, and a whiteboard. My teaching style is to integrate topics that interest students along with skills they need to learn and build on. The teacher will interact with the student one on one. There is no prior knowledge necessary for these tutoring sessions.

My name is Kim Joseph. I have 20 years of experience in teaching English and reading comprehension skills to elementary and middle school children. I have a Master's in Childhood Education in grades 1-6. I also have an Education Specialist degree in grades K-12, and a TESOL certificate. I believe that lessons and assessments should be designed to connect with each child's learning style, experiences, talents, and uniqueness. Learning should be an enjoyable experience for children that motivates them to learn more. In my spare time, I love to travel, bowl, and spend time with my family.
