Parental Guidance for Cooking Class 🧑🍳
For the safety and success of your learner, the following parental guidance is recommended during our cooking class:
Supervision During Class: While this class is designed for independence, a responsible adult should be nearby to assist with tasks requiring extra care, such as handling hot ovens, stoves, or sharp objects. As per Outschool’s policy, adults must remain off-camera during the class.
Knife Safety: If a recipe involves cutting or chopping, please provide your learner with age-appropriate tools such as a kid-friendly knife or pre-cut ingredients if necessary. An adult should assist or supervise when learners are using sharp objects.
Hot Surfaces: For recipes that involve ovens, stovetops, or microwaves, adult assistance is essential to avoid burns or accidents. Learners will be instructed to request help when these tasks are required.
Allergen Awareness: Please review the ingredient list provided in advance to ensure the recipe accommodates your learner’s dietary needs or allergies. Many recipes offer substitutions for common allergens.
Kitchen Environment: Ensure the workspace is safe and organized. Learners should use non-slip mixing bowls, stable cutting boards, and other secure equipment to minimize risks.
Clothing and Hygiene: Learners should wear short or snug-fitting sleeves, tie back long hair, and wash their hands thoroughly before class. An apron or easily washable clothing is recommended.
By working together, we can ensure a safe, fun, and engaging cooking experience for your learner! If you have any questions or specific concerns, feel free to message me through the Outschool platform. 😊
