"Welcome to our clan, warriors!"

This course is for Warrior Cats fans! In this flexible-schedule course, we will formulate and participate in 'clan' activities as they would as real warriors in the warrior cat series, through art, writing, and nature. Each week, students will be able to participate in clan writing role play with me and the other students, as they unravel a story plot that I will provide for them throughout the course of 5 weeks. Students will also be given weekly art and writing tasks, including designing and drawing their characters in plot scenarios, creating comics, and writing their own short stories. I will offer tutorials in drawing warrior cats as well as assist them in developing their fictional writing skills. Each week I will upload a new video of myself explaining the weekly tasks, and students will have the opportunity to record video projects of themselves through Flipgrid.

STUDENTS WILL NEED:
- Drawing material of any kind (paper, pens, markers, colored pencils, etc.)
- A document program such as Word or WordPad to type short stories and paragraphs.
- Access to Kahoot! for taking quizzes that test their warrior cat knowledge.
- Access to FlipGrid for submitting video introductions and video projects.
- Access to Nearpod where I will be organizing each weeks list of assignments.

Each student will be able to enter themselves as a clan cat with their own warrior cat name, or as one of their original warrior cat characters. As a team, they will come up with a clan name, and receive their own clan rank. As the teacher, I will serve as the "clan leader", and assign each role to each student. Students will also be paired together or given group writing projects during the last week to come up with a story together, using Nearpod's "Collaborate" feature.

This is an interactive experience where students will get to feel like they are really a part of a clan!

WEEK1:
- Introductions through Flipgrid
- Naming our clan
- Filling out a Warrior Cat Character Sheet
- Assignment: Draw and design our cat characters

WEEK 2:
- Week 2 Role Play Plot engage - Each student writes at least 1 small paragraph
- Assigning students clan 'ranks'
- Kahoot Quiz on Warrior Cats
- Assignment: Write a short story or a backstory for their cat character

WEEK 3:
- Week 3 Role Play Plot engage - Each student writes at least 1 paragraph
- Assignment: Pick another students cat character to draw, and draw them interacting together in comic form!
- Topic for live chat discussion: What warrior cat do you most relate to, and why?

WEEK 4:
- Week 4 Role Play Plot engage - Each student writes at least 1 paragraph
- Kahoot Herb Knowledge quiz
- Assignment: Students will pair up---and write a short story together! They will use teamwork to practice using descriptive verbs to their writing, and come up with an ending to our plot.

WEEK 5:
- Week 4 Final Wrap-up Role Play plot engage - Each student writes at least 1 paragraph
- Flipgrid recap: Show us your artwork, and tell us your favorite part of camp, and your favorite part in the story we unraveled. 
- Receive a personal drawing of their own character from me!
