このクラスで学べること

Learn Japanese starting from scratch! We will learn how to read Hiragana with proper pronunciation, understand the characteristics of Japanese language, and understand basic sentence structures.
I teach using Google Slides so students can see images and videos to match their new vocabulary.
Each lesson includes review, reading and writing practice, new grammar introduction, and a chance for students to ask questions about homework.

This class includes:
-Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening
-Videos
-Games
-Songs
-Japanese Stories
-Japanese Culture Resources

Structure: We will start with practicing reading and writing hiragana, then review last week, and start the new week. Homework is given at the end of class.

Homework: Students will need to memorize vocabulary outside of class so they can understand vocabulary in lessons. There are about 10-25 new vocab words each week. 1-2 pages of homework is given per week. No tests. No background knowledge is necessary, but if you already know hiragana or katakana that is fine too! I ask students to please send a photo of their completed homework when they finish so I can them give them feedback.

Class Schedule:
Class 1: We will learn vowels, greetings, colors and how to introduce oneself.
Class 2: We will continue learning colors, nationality, expand on the alphabet with new characters, and how to ask questions.
Class 3: We will begin learning numbers, particles, and use songs for counting.
Class 4: We will learn animals, places, age, likes and dislikes.

*Note: The amount of material covered depends on the pace of the student and the work they put in outside of class. I work at the pace of each student and will make sure they have a topic locked in before moving on.
