初級から中級者向けイタリア語集中サマーキャンプ - 週4回

To learn at a quicker-pace Italian conversation skills, vocabulary, verbs, and more during the summer! Whether a complete beginner or wanting to review and work on Italian, this weekly camp is a great fit for you! it is ongoing which means you can pause the course during the summer weeks you can't join due to vacation, etc.

We will meet 4 days a week and have makeups on the other week day if needed.

Day 1 of each week: Basic conversation skills or dialogues
Day 2 of each week: Vocabulary
Day 3 of each week: Verbs
Day 4 of each week: Comprehension -- through reading, singing in Italian, or watching a show in Italian (with any of these forms, we will also discuss what parts of it are saying in English)


My teaching approach:
- We start with a small catch up of our week and any updates to allow students to feel connected and a part of a group.
- We review anything necessary from last time and start learning the new material. I will say the word in English/ Italian, and then students are to repeat the word in Italian to work on pronunciation. If we are learning conversation skills, then we'll discuss how to pronounce words and phrases and then I'll give each student the opportunity for me to ask them the question we learned in Italian in order for them to practice how they learned to answer it. If we are doing a reading exercise, then sometimes I will break up the lines for each student to have a few lines to read or we'll read it together if it is a smaller group.
- We'll end with talking about optional homework and if time permits a little review by asking questions outload or do a little game.

Week of July 8:
- Day 1: What's your name? How are you? Where is the bathroom? What's the weather like?
- Day 2: Greetings vocabulary
- Day 3: verb patterns for -are regular verbs in the present tense
- Day 4: watch a 2 minute Italian Bluey episode and discuss 10+ words from the show

Week of July 15:
- Day 1: How old are you? Do you have pets? Do you have brothers or sisters?
- Day 2: Numbers 1-15 vocabulary
- Day 3: verb patterns for -ere and -ire regular verbs in the present tense
- Day 4: learn 5 Monkeys Jumping on the Bed song


Week of July 22:
- Day 1: Restaurant conversation skills
- Day 2: Numbers 15-20 and counting by 10s up to 100 vocabulary
- Day 3: Essere (am, is, are) and Avere (have, has) in the present tense
- Day 4: watch a different 2 minute Italian Bluey episode and discuss 10+ words from the show


Week of July 29:
- Day 1: how to order gelato at a gelateria
- Day 2: Summer vocabulary
- Day 3: start on some irregular verbs in the present tense
- Day 4: read a mini-fairytale together
