Students will learn about turtles. There are aquatic turtles and land tortoises.  What is the difference between the two?  Which make a good pet? They will be able to classify types of turtles. They will also learn basic care for aquatic and box turtles. America has a large numbers of turtles do you know how many types there are?  No prior knowledge is needed. No homework is given. Learner will be evaluated based on ability to answer questions.  This is a two week class. Students will be able to share their ideas and work on building a turtle habitat.  They will be asked to explain their habitat.  On class one we will be talking about the different aquatic and box turtles  found in different states and countries.  We will talk about how to tell an aquatic turtle from a box turtle. We will also learn about turtles that are endangered.    During class two and three we will talk about basic pet care for aquatic turtles and box turtles. Students will be asked to talk about what they have learned and will have the option of creating their own turtle habitat by drawing or making a model of a habitat.
