✍️ Skill-Building Through Journaling

While the focus is on self-expression, this class also supports the development of strong writing habits in a gentle, encouraging way. Students will:

Gain confidence in their writing voice

Practice organizing and expressing thoughts clearly

Explore various writing styles such as narrative, descriptive, reflective, and list-based formats

Play with creative writing techniques like storytelling, tone, and visual language

Whether a student loves writing stories, poems, or simply wants to build a stronger connection to their thoughts, journaling is a low-pressure and powerful way to grow.

⏱️ Class Structure (45 minutes)

Each session includes:

Welcome + Icebreaker (5 min): A creative or reflective warm-up

Mini Lesson + Prompt (10 min): Introduce a theme or journaling idea

Journaling Time (15–20 min): Students write or create independently with gentle support

Optional Sharing & Wrap-Up (10 min): Reflections, connections, and encouragement

At the end of each class, students will receive a weekly journal challenge, prompt, or mini goal to explore on their own before we meet again. These optional take-home reflections are meant to spark curiosity and help students build a personal journaling habit that continues outside the classroom space.

The structure remains consistent for comfort and rhythm, while content and themes stay fresh and flexible.

🎨 Teaching Style

My teaching style is warm, encouraging, and student-centered. I focus on creating a safe, imaginative space where students can explore ideas, feelings, and creativity—without pressure or perfection. Every learner is welcome to show up as they are.

💬 Interaction & Engagement

This live, interactive class encourages:

Light group discussion and creative check-ins

Optional sharing of journal entries or reflections

Questions, comments, and guidance in real time

Students are never required to share aloud but are always welcome to. Whether a student prefers to reflect inwardly or speak their thoughts out loud, everyone’s way of showing up is valued and respected. There’s space for all kinds of expression here.
