This class will be a teacher-driven discussion class that will emphasize why budgeting is important. It will talk about what budgeting can be done as a teenager and a prospective college student. We will focus on discussing the need to save for schools and talk about the dangers of relying on student loans and credit cards. Students will understand the importance of money and know how to budget their money to reach their goals.
I believe budgeting is important. Teenagers need to learn how important money is and how it should be treated. Students should also be made aware of the dangers of taking out student loans and relying on credit cards. I am excited to teach this because as I interact with others and especially my husbands family I have realized that budgeting from a young age is not being addressed and internalized as often as it should.
Students will need paper and a writing utensil. Ledger paper is preferred but not a must. This is available at Walmarts or Dollar Stores as well as any Office Supply store.
