In this four-week course, 1 time a week, students will learn all about musical theatre performance. Students will rehearse for a mini-show. They will learn singing techniques, dance and choreography, and story creation. Each day will have a specific focus, and at the end of the course, we will put all we learned together for a short showcase. This is a highly interactive class. Students should be expected to practice the songs and dances outside of class. Students will rotate between a singing, acting, and dance class. In the third class, we will put everything together Students will learn vocal warm-ups, and practice singing songs from their favorite Broadway musicals. Special emphasis will be given to matching the pitch of the notes. Finally, acting and improvisation activities will be taught. Students will create "mini-scenes" together. All of these performance elements will be put together for our own show using songs from the selected musical. Schedule The following is a general overview, singing, acting, and dance may be mixed around) Day 1: Introduction to Theatre/Improv Games/Getting to know you/Sing through Day 2: Dance Day 3: Acting Scenes and Review Day 4: Review and Showtime! Students will learn "Surface Pressure" "We Don't Talk about Bruno" and possibly other songs depending on how students advance through the class. :)

Safety is our top priority. This class requires that you have enough space to move around, proper closed-toed shoes or dance shoes, and a water bottle if needed. It is recommended that students stretch beforehand. As with any physical activity, injuries may occur. Students should be properly supervised throughout the class.
