Parts and Crafts is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit that was originally founded in 2009 as a summer camp in the Boston area. In the winter of 2011-12 parents who were unhappy with their local elementary school asked if we would start a homeschooling resource group. After many months of planning, the Center for Semi-Conducted Learning (CSCL) opened in September of 2012 with 8 kids. In March of 2020 we had upwards of 50 homeschoolers per week, and even more in our afterschool program. Since going fully online March 23, 2020, we've had almost 160 kids join us for April Camp, CSCL online, and summer camp. We've drawn wacky creatures, folded paper, made bioplastics, and baked, played Magic the Gathering and Minecraft, built sculptures and milk-jug pigs out of recycling and trash, played social games like the Village and role playing games like Kids on Bikes, learned about secret codes and ciphers, and much much more!
