このクラスで学べること

Make games that can be played on any mobile device or computer! Or on the Internet!🕹️
(See 'Supply List' below for link to download the free Clickteam Fusion app.)

Students will explore the world of internet gaming through designing web-based (HTML5) game apps. No prior coding experience necessary! Students will use a coding interface that allows them to experience the full potential of object-oriented programming (coding) without having to learn a complex language. Student-created apps can be played directly on any mobile device or computer. (For offline usage, HTML5 Apps run great offline with the Firefox Web Browser.)
📢 Students can upload these HTML5 game files online at their own time after the course is over.

ITINERARY:
【Day 1 - Day 2】
✔️ Students will first be introduced to Clickteam Fusion by showing where all the properties, settings, and coding sections are.
✔️ Direct Instruction: Students will follow along with the teacher as he shows them how to put together build a basic game.
【Day 3-5】
✔️ Direct Instruction: Students will follow along with the teacher as he shows them how to put together build a basic game.
✔️ Game Design Practice: Students will code their own game, with assistance from the instructor.
【Day 6】
✔️ Direct Instruction: Students will follow along with the teacher as he shows them how to export their game project into HTML5 code. Students can play their game pretty on any mobile device or computer. Students will also be shown how to upload their files online with a FTP program like Filezilla. (Students, under parents guidance, can upload their own games online after the class is over.)
✔️ Student Practice: Students will practice compiling their web-pages into HTML5 code with assistance from the instructor.
✔️ More Game Design Practice: Students will continue coding their own page, with assistance from the instructor, and updating their HTML5 files at the end of class.

No background experience is required, but helpful.

Materials Needed:
✔️ Computer (Windows Preferred, but Macintosh would also work. Doesn't work on Chromebook.)
✔️ Clickteam Fusion (The Free Version of Clicktream Fusion can be found here: https://www.clickteam.com/clickteam-fusion-2-5-free-edition)
Optional Materials:
✔️ Filezilla (For uploaded HTML5 files onto the internet.)
⚠️ Please make sure Clickteam Fusion is installed prior to class. If you have any difficulties with the installation, feel free to message me.

This is a LIVE class and is NOT pre-recorded.
This class will be presented via camera from the instructor. He will have one camera at his face and another will be a shared screen where the students can see what he is dong on the computer, so that the student can see the instructor as speaks, and be able to observe step-by-step what the instructor is doing. Students can interact with the instructor, as well ask ask questions during instruction.

No writing or independent reading is necessary.
Students are expected to communicate with the teacher. Communication, visuals, and hands-on instruction are all the things that I are important in helping the students get a better understanding of the subject.
学習到達目標
1. Students will learn to design their own game applications. Students will learn to analyze problems by identifying relationships, distinguishing relevant from irrelevant information, identifying missing information, and sequencing and prioritizing information (Critical Thinking)
2. Students will learn to select and use appropriate tools and technology (computers) in working with HTML5 app coding.
3 Students will learn to evaluate the process of the various media and techniques available in making their HTML5 applications and uploading them online or accessing them on their devices.

Hi, my name is Raymond Mullikin. 👋

I am a professional cartoonist and credentialed teacher from San Luis Obispo, California.

I teach classes in Cartooning, Comic Book Printing and Publishing, 2D Cartoon Animation, Claymation/Stop Motion, Toy Figure Design, Video Game and App Coding, Creative Writing, etc.

I am also a professional illustrator/writer and Creative Director for Raytoons Comics. The Raytoons website is at Raytoons.Net. I have published cartoons in books, magazines, newspapers, and e-cards. I am an app designer who have designed my own games and software for schools and Appstores. I have also done past work in animation, creating animated film shorts for film festivals around the world.

I graduated from the University of Laverne with a Teaching Credential (2012) and a BA in Liberal Studies (2009). I also have certifications in Early Childhood Education, Technology and 2D Design. I've worked in education for 20+ years (including a few years in Special Ed) and have been doing contract teaching since 2009. I teach art and technology to children and adults of all ages.

How students approach a learning task can strongly influence the quality of their learning outcomes. For me, my approach is often very hands on (kinesthetic) with a lot of visual examples... That's how I've learned things, with a more creative approach. I have a lot of this in my instruction, with a mix of direct and interactive instruction with lots of Experiential Learning hands on!
It is also important to me to get feedback from both children and parents... Some kids have some very clever ideas! And, in teaching, there is always room for expansion of ideas and improving oneself.

I love drawing, comics, writing, creating my own games, and reading. Pretty much everything that I teach I enjoy and do professionally. I also enjoy teaching and thank all the parents and students willing to give me a try! 😃
