This interactive interior design class introduces students to the exciting world of design while helping them develop creative and practical skills.
What will be taught?

Students will learn the core principles of interior design, including balance, proportion, and harmony. They will explore how to identify and work with different design styles, master the art of color theory, understand the impact of lighting, and plan spaces effectively. They will also develop essential skills in visual communication, creating mood boards and 3D renderings, and learn the fundamentals of working with clients.

The class will cover the following key topics:

Week 1 (March 15): Interior Design Principles: Foundations of great design, such as balance, rhythm, and proportion.
Week 2 (March 22): Styles: Exploration of popular styles like modern, minimalist, boho, and more.
Week 3 (March 29): Color Theory: Understanding the psychology of color, creating harmonious palettes, and the emotional impact of colors.
Week 4 (April 5): Lighting: Types of lighting, their functions, and how they transform spaces.
Week 5 (April 12): Space Planning: How to create functional, aesthetically pleasing layouts and work with floor plans.
Week 6 (April 19): Visual Communication: Using mood boards and 3D renderings to express design ideas.
Week 7 (April 26): Working with a Client: Understanding client needs, conducting interviews, and  presenting design concepts.


-The class is structured as a blend of lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities to ensure active engagement. Each session will introduce a new topic through an interactive lecture followed by practical, creative exercises to reinforce learning.

-I will guide students step by step through each concept and activity, demonstrating techniques and showing examples to help them visualize ideas. Students will receive clear instructions and have opportunities to ask questions, share ideas, and receive feedback throughout the class.

-My teaching style combines being a demonstrator and a facilitator. I provide clear, structured instruction while encouraging creativity and critical thinking through open-ended discussions and collaborative activities.

-Students will have frequent opportunities to interact with me through guided questions, discussions, and one-on-one feedback on their work. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their ideas.
