In this course we will discuss the shark attacks of 1916 that inspired Steven Spielberg's film Jaws. We will discuss the shark attacks, victims, the science of the time and why it is important to understand and study sharks. I will use storytelling along with slides and historical documents to tell the history of the shark attacks of 1916. A handout will be posted prior that can be completed during the class.
