Beginner - Intermediate レベル向け
The five pillars of reading will be reviewed in a multi-sensory format. The sessions will be personalized for each group and each learner. How it works: Students meet with me through video chat. They will be given a NearPod link at the beginning of each session. During the session, they will use the on-screen options to draw, click, drag, etc. We will use a play-to-learn format so the children feel like they're just playing games when they're actually improving their reading skills. Through their responses, I'll be able to see if they need to move up or down a level. My goal is to make learning fun but still challenging. If all their answers are consistently correct then I'll recommend that they move up a level. As they master each level, you will receive an email from me with further suggestions and instructions. *Please note, the level they are performing on may be different than their grade level! They will be assigned to the class that meets their needs best. When speaking to the children, I'll refer to the sessions as "levels" instead of "grades". That way, we can avoid any embarrassment or apprehension about attending tutoring. Each week, topics will include: a review/warm up, reading comprehension, vocabulary, phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency. We will incorporate writing, ELA, and grammar into our lessons as well. If you're not sure what level your child is at, please schedule an assessment. The class will be interactive and engaging. I believe in a whole-child and play-based method of learning. I often use games, videos, and rewards to keep the children engaged. They will have so much fun reading, that they won't even realize they're learning! I have a Master's in Child and Adolescent Development and am a reading tutor. Many of my students have learning differences such as Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Autism, and Specific Learning Disorders. My lessons follow an Orton-Gillingham approach while uses multiple senses at the same time to help with memory and retention.
