Students will be read a short story from Ms. Angela and will then be prompted to create their own story together as a class. Ms. Angie will display what they say on the screen so they can see the entire story projected by the end of the class. Students will use the proper format of a "real" children's book to develop an introduction, climax and resolution to their OWN story. Ice breakers at the beginning of class will be used to create a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere where students may make connections with each other. Students will then take turn contributing connecting sentences to form a complete, creative, unique children's story they can call their own! Students will be exposed to the various parts of a story and will be encouraged to experiment with different styles, possibilities, endings etc. To further reinforce various directions the same story can travel, students will be encouraged to try applying different introductions, climaxes, endings to their existing stories.
