Beginner レベル向け
It's time for young emergent readers to have their own book club, and your learner is not too young. This is a fun, exciting, engaging book club for young readers who are beginning to read and excited about reading different stories & books with new friends.

It's such an exciting time for learners who are beginning to read on their own, and so much fun, too. In "I'm Not Too Young For My First Book Club," learners who enroll should know the letters of the alphabet, their sounds, know some simple sight words, beginning to read short two and three word sentences, asking questions about what they read, building their own vocabulary, and writing a little, too.

Learners will read different books from esteemed children authors, talk about characters, where the story takes place [setting], what's happening in the story [basic plot], sequence of events, how learners like the story and what they liked about it. They will not only read aloud, read with other learners and their Teacher, but get help sounding out new words and understanding what they read, use picture clues to tell the story, and enforce left-to-right reading progression. Learners will participate in shared reading activities, write and draw a little at times, letter and treasure hunts, find the secret word and play other word games.

The main focus of "I'm Not Too Young For My First Book Club" is READING, allowing learners to express themselves, interact socially with other learners, gain confidence in their reading and become independent readers.

It's time for young emergent readers to have their own book club, and your learner is not too young. Reading is an adventure that never ends. Begin your learner's adventure. Enroll your learner today and let's begin having fun, reading!

I am a retired public school Principal who has taught and written curriculum for grades K-12 in all subject areas. I have taught learners from grades K-12, Special needs learners, adults, ESL learners from several countries it seems for most of my life. Teaching children is what I love to do! And teaching learners of all ages to read and write is my passion. I personally am an avid reader and have been since I was a little girl hearing my Mom say, "Lights out in there. It's way past your bedtime" as I read with a flashlight under my covers. I love to work with children in all subject area [reading, writing, science, cooking to name a few] but teaching them to read and write in particular is probably my favorite. Seeing the "lights" come on as a learner "gets it" is what I love most and love being a part of that experience.

I am very happy to be teaching on the Outschool platform and look forward to my passion for reading, rubbing off on your learner.
