*At the end of each class we will open up a brand new pack of Pokemon cards! Will we get a full art or a secret rare? You will have to be in class to find out!!!* Are you ready to be a part of this exclusive Pokemon Club? Each week students in the class will be able to talk about all things Pokemon! What's great about this class is the fact that each week we will be able to talk Pokemon with the same students and start building relationships with other Pokemon fans! Each class will follow this format: - Pokemon of the Week! Each week I will announce the Pokemon of the Week! We will take a deep dive into this Pokemon and each student will be able to give their opinion on the Pokemon. - Would You Rather Pokemon Cards! I will show two Pokemon cards and you have to tell me which card would you rather have for you collection. - Pokemon Battle! We will pit two Pokemon against each other in this exciting battle! Using our wheel of attacks, students will be able to attack the opposing Pokemon and try to knock them out! Which Pokemon will be the last one standing? Please note that this class is tailored for a younger age group and beginner Pokemon fan. We will also be talking about any Pokemon news from the past week and I will also mix in some surprises every couple of classes! This ongoing class is only limited to 10 students so students will be able to make a lot of great friends but will have lots of time to talk and discuss during each class! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please Note that this is an ONGOING Class. If you would like to stop your subscription to an ongoing class, you can use the “Stop Subscription” button on the For Parents tab of the Classroom. Get there by clicking the class title from your Learner Schedule. Please be sure to stop your subscription before SUNDAY so that you will not be charged for the upcoming week.

Throughout my almost 2 decades in education, I have worked with students from Preschool all the way up to college. After receiving my education degree from SUNY Brockport, I received my Masters' Degree in Educational Administration (School Building Leader and School District Leader) from Lehman College. I have spent over a decade working for NYC DOE and also spent two years working at Barnard College, the sister college of Columbia University.
My experiences with students in all of these age groups taught me one thing, over and over again -- one size fits none. You can't mass produce education, it only works well if it's individualized, and if lessons are taught in ways that excite, interest and engage each student. In 2012, I started a company focusing on unique and individual learning techniques. Our in-person classes taught a myriad of educational lessons through mediums that gripped my students -- we taught math concepts through movement games, language and writing skills through art, etc. During the coronavirus pandemic, I transitioned that same concept to my Outschool classes -- it's a platform that I love because it allows me to tap into kids' niche interests in an even more drilled down way than I could do in person. Now, whether my younger students are learning about a certain calculation technique via a Pokemon character, or my older ones are discussing their true passions as a way to figure out how to get into their dream colleges, I'm most satisfied with my work when I'm meeting kids right where they are. Seeing a child learn something new while he or she is showcasing expertise in a subject area of passion is a win for me and for the student. I learn from my students every day, and I'm thrilled when they feel like they've grown and gained in each class, too.レビュー
