In this multi-day class, the students and I will cover how to write dialogue in creative writing short stories according to the American English grammar rules. We will talk about all the grammar and punctuation rules students need to know to write good dialogue. Then, we will study the different types of dialogue (9) and examples for each of them. Please note: If your student already knows how to format dialogue, this class may not be the best fit for them. This is a class created for beginners on this topic. Class #1: We will start class with a small writing exercise. Then, we will begin to cover the class material via PowerPoint. With each slide, there will be a lecture on the concept and then an example. Class #2: We will finish the PowerPoint as stated before, and then we will practice formatting dialogue correctly via a worksheet. If you are interested in participating in this course but the time doesn't work for you, please let me know what CST time and day you are interested in. Students will need a notebook or paper for our writing exercise during the first class and for taking notes. In the second class, students will need the worksheet we will complete in class (if the student has no access to a printer, they are more than welcome to just use it as a reference and write the answers on a separate piece of paper).

Hi everyone! I am Teacher KerrieAnn. Here at Outschool, I enjoy teaching a variety of English classes ranging from skill-specific classes to overall improvement.
I enjoy teaching the skills I learned through my B.S. from Middle Tennessee State University. I studied how to write fiction pieces ranging from poetry and short stories all the way to novels. Given this, I love to teach students how to write their preferred type of fiction while also encouraging them to try something new. I also enjoy teaching students how to develop their writing "toolbox" and grow through the process of storytelling!
Given that I am a writer myself, my classroom environment is founded on mutual respect. Meaning, it is an encouraging, kind, and fun environment to discover and learn within.
I hope that my classes will strike new interests and passions that students can share with others and use to grow their wealth of knowledge.レビュー
