In this semester course, students will learn about the Medieval World, the Early Modern World, and the World of Empires. ~ Think ~ Easter Island, The Mayan Culture, Christopher Columbus, The Renaissance, The Revolutionary War, and Napoleon.....This class will take these topics plus, many more and grab the students attention.....having them question is this real or fake? It's real but, when a historical story is told in a fascinating way students will remember those historical facts. Each week students will learn about a new topic ensuring that they stay focused and have fun learning about fun historical facts. We will be following the schedule below; a syllabus will given to each student to ensure that they are aware of the review questions and projects that will be due. Week 1: The Medieval World (East and Southeast Asia) The Rise, The Rule, and The Decline of these Empires Week 2: The Medieval World (The Middle East, Africa, India) The Rise, The Rule, and The Decline of these Empires Week 3: The Medieval World (Europe) The Rise, The Rule, and The Decline of these Empires Week 4: The Medieval World (Byzantine Empire, The Americas, Polynesia) The Rise, The Rule, and The Decline of these Empires Week 5: The Early Modern World (Asia) Voyages of Discovery, Trades, and Conquering New Unchartered Lands Week 6: The Early Modern World (The Americas) Voyages of Discovery, Trades, and Conquering New Unchartered Lands Week 7: The Early Modern World (Europe) Voyages of Discovery, Trades, and Conquering New Unchartered Lands Week 8: The Early Modern World (Europe Continued) Voyages of Discovery, Trades, and Conquering New Unchartered Lands & The World of Empires (The Americas) Protecting Newly Claimed Land and Expansion of Growth Week 9: The World of Empires (The Americas) Protecting Newly Claimed Land and Expansion of Growth Week 10: The World of Empires (Europe) Protecting Newly Claimed Land and Expansion of Growth Week 11: The World of Empires (Europe Continued) & (Asia) Protecting Newly Claimed Land and Expansion of Growth Week 12: The World of Empires (Asia, Oceania, Africa) Protecting Newly Claimed Land and Expansion of Growth Week 13: Class Completion and Project Presentations The information presented in this class will detail where each location of the historical events occurred, what their villages looked like and how they conducted business, historical names of the interesting historical individuals and their contribution to history, we will discuss artifacts left by various societies, their inventions and travels to uncharted lands. This class is taught using a secular approach; students will not be subjected to personal religious opinions. This course is designed using a PowerPoint Presentation while incorporating video/audio clips when available. All students must have a working camera and microphone so that they can participate in class discussions; students may want to take notes to help with their weekly reviews (this is optional). ~~~~~~ It is recommended that students take my History of the World: Prehistoric, Ancient, and Classical World History course first but, it is NOT required. This course is the second history class in my series; the third is History of the World: An in-Depth Look at the Modern World (Current Events). I have over 15 years of experience teaching elementary, middle, and high school students historical facts and multi-level historical content; my education and experienced background does contain an emphasis in historical studies. I have used this current curriculum for the past eight years with my public and private middle/high school students; because the information provided in this course is designed for beginner and intermediate students topics we will not emphasis any racial or discriminative historical actions.
