Teacher Tom is a top educator on Outschool for Passion-Driven Teaching! In this class, we will learn a little about each of the major historic expeditions to, and across, Antarctica. Come meet Earnest Shackleton, Robert Scott, Roald Amundson, and others, as you learn who they were, and how far they traveled across the deadly Polar Ice. This class is a great introductory look at the discovery of Antarctica and the race to the south pole. It will bring to life the spirit of adventure and discovery within you, and give you new heroes to learn from and look up to! The class will include many recommendations for books and videos to learn more about your newfound heroes. The learner may also dive deeper through the soon-to-come Semester-long courses on each of these explorers
