The CLEP Western Civilization exam covers a vast array of historical events, figures, and concepts that have shaped the development of Western societies. From ancient civilizations like Greece and Rome to the Renaissance and Enlightenment periods, this exam delves into the political, social, cultural, and economic transformations that have occurred over thousands of years. In this course, students will study the history of Western Civilization from Pre-History to the Middle Ages.  Students will study topics including political structures, social movements, religious institutions, artistic achievements, and technological advancements that have shaped Western society. Students can demonstrate their proficiency in analyzing complex historical narratives and making connections between past events and contemporary issues. Ultimately, success on the CLEP Western Civilization exam showcases an individual's ability to think critically about the complexities of civilization development throughout time.


There is a Part 2 to this course but the order in which you take them does not matter.

Part 1 of the course prepares students to take the Western Civilization I CLEP exam and Part 2 prepares students to take the Western Civilization II CLEP exam.  Each part is 15 weeks long and both parts is equal to taking a high school World History or Western Civilization course.
