This is the second semester of a full-year curriculum high school physics course that introduces students to the basics of physics. My goal is to make high school physics fun and it easier to grasp difficult concepts through interaction and discussions. My course materials include videos, demonstrations, presentations with guided notes, simulations and virtual labs, and interactive activities. I have a conversational style of teaching that engages each student. Learners can ask questions and interact with the lesson. You do not have to have completed Semester 1 to take this course. Before taking this course, learners should have a basic understanding of Algebra I and Trigonometry (sine, cosine, and tangent) and need a calculator capable of trig functions. There is NO CLASS on the weeks of February 10th and March 24th. The Syllabus shows the estimated schedule of topics for each week. While grading is optional, completing the practice problems, activities, and assessments is strongly encouraged. Depending on the topic, learners will engage in online labs with optional at-home labs. A supply list will be provided the week before any at-home labs are included, and each at-home lab is optional. Quizzes are also optional unless requesting a final grade. All graded assignments will need to be submitted for anyone requesting a final grade. Graded assignments include paper quizzes, identified homework, identified online labs, and midterm and final exams.

I use Google Slides for drag-and-drop, labeling, and other interactive activities I create. These activities allow students to engage with the concepts in a conceptual way, providing the foundation for key concepts.
I use Google Docs and Forms for some assignments and quizzes. This provides a way for students to complete some assignments for submission online. I will provide a printable PDF for these assignments if preferred.
A Google Account will be needed to access the interactive activities and Google Docs. However, a printable alternative is provided for each, making the need for an account optional.
I use virtual labs and simulations to illustrate specific concepts to accommodate every learner’s unique needs (food allergies, parental availability for supervision, etc). The virtual simulations are obtained from PhET, CK-12, and Physics Aviary. No account is required to use any of these educational simulations.
I use instructional YouTube video tutorials during lessons for selected topics. These brief video clips are prepped and shared during class, making them available for review in the recording. The video links are not shared with students.
Kahoot are online quiz game that learners can use to check their understanding. Each review game is set to individual users, providing the opportunity to test their knowledge in a fun and interactive way. No account is required to play Kahoot.
