週あたり 1-2 時間. Assignments, worksheets, quizzes, and tests will be provided in the Google Classroom. Roughly 1-2 hours outside of class.テスト
Parents will be able to see all work completed. I leave it up to the parents to decide if they want their student to complete all the assignments/test/quizzes, just portions of them, etc. I don't put in "0"s for non-complete/non-attempted work unless the parent has contacted me to say they want all work completed by the student. The grade shown on Google Classroom is for all attempted work.評価

This the second and final semester of a full year high school chemistry course (two semesters). The topics covered by week are shown below by week followed by an FAQ. This class will cover all the topics in the final semester of a high school chemistry course. The students will receive homework and assignments through our Google Classroom. There will be an exam at the end of each semester and quizzes spaced out throughout the semester. Please see FAQ below for more information. Week 1 (Week of Jan 28th)- Introduction to Semester 2 Review of topics pertinent from Semester 1 Week 2 and Week 3 (Weeks of Feb 4th and Feb 11th)- Chemical Reactions Writing Balanced Equations Predicting Products Synthesis, Decomposition, Displacements, Ionic, and RedOx reaction identification. Week 4 (Week of Feb 18th)– Reaction Stoichiometry Reactant and Product Calculations Yield Molar Ratio Week 5 (Week of Feb 25th) – Thermochemistry Endothermic vs Exothermic processes Chemical Reactions Week 6 and Week 7 (Weeks of March 3rd and March 10th)– Gases Review of Phases of Matter Phase Changes Overview of Gas Laws Properties of Gases Ideal Gas Law Week 8 (Week of March 17th)- Solutions Mixtures Concentration Math and Solution Calculations Week 9 (Week of March 24th) – Ions in Aqueous Solutions and Colligative Properties Week 10 and Week 11(Weeks of March 31st and April 7th) – Acids and Bases Acid/Base Reactions Titration pH and pH Calculations Week 12 (Week of April 14th) – Nuclear Chemistry Nuclear Reactions Radioactive Decay Week 13 (Week of April 21st) – Equilibrium Reactions Write Equilibrium Reactions Kc and Kp calculations Week 14 (Week of April 28th) – Electrochemical Reactions Galvanic and Electrolytic Cells Comparison to Oxidation and Reduction Week 15 (Week of May 5th) – Review of Semester FAQ Is this a full year course? The full year is offered! I offer the semesters as separate courses for students who do not want to take the full year course back to back. For example a student could begin high school chemistry in the summer, take the fall off, and come back for the second semester in the spring. Will my student receive a grade? Yes! Parents receive an invitation to the Google Classroom site the week before class begins (on the class board on Outschool instructions will be posted). This site will have assignments, readings, quizzes and exams. Students will be able to take these throughout the course. Do I need to attend all the sessions? Chemistry tends to "build" on itself as the semester goes on. The topics are helpful to learn in order. Each week the course will open with the assignments and worksheets for the students who attended that week. Students are more than welcome to come to whichever portions of the class they would like and complete those assignments. The exam is made based on the entire semester's topics but all students are open to completing it. Parents and Students will be able to see all graded work completed. Can I opt out of a grade? Yes! If you do not want a grade for the course but still want to see the quizzes, tests, and readings let me know. I will give you access to the entire course. Is there a textbook? I do not require a textbook for this course. I DO require readings throughout the course. These will come in the form of PDFs. Many of these are chapters or readings I have written myself or taken from academic sources. What is your background? I have a MS and PhD in Chemistry. I have taught hundreds of classes in Chemistry and Biology from high school to graduate level.
学習到達目標
Students will be able to apply their knowledge to chemical reactions through balancing reactions, identifying type of reaction, predicting products and calculating yield.
Students will also be able to calculate moles, grams, and number of atoms.
