In this one-time course, students will discover the harrowing experience of the B-17 and the air war over Germany in World War II. Students will be introduced to the most famous bomber in the war: The B-17. Students will learn the extreme dangers that faced the crewmen through class discussions, photographs, and video. The class will then go on a virtual tour of a B-17, to learn about the crew's positions and other fun facts about the aircraft. Questions and student participation are encouraged throughout the lesson. Students will leave the class with an appreciation of what American Airmen went through over the European skies, in the most iconic bomber of WWII, WW2.

Students will learn the importance of the strategic bombing campaign and how it contributed to victory in WWII.
