In this one-time class, students will continue to expand on their genetics knowledge about DNA, or the recipe for traits in living organisms. We will learn about the double helix structure and function of DNA made up of nucleotides. Learners will explore the parts of a nucleotide, including the four types of nitrogenous bases. 

Finally, students will learn about how this structure relates to functions in your body involving RNA, proteins, and cells! We will end the class with a hands-on experiment! We will observe firsthand the connection between structure and function using an egg. 

I look forward to diving further into this concept with curious, young scientists!

Supply List:
- 1 egg
- rubbing alcohol (*Hydrogen peroxide works slightly, but will have a faint effect. Rubbing alcohol preferred.)
- bowl

Note: Students will need a place to conduct the experiment, preferably a kitchen counter or a table.
