In this 15 week course, we will focus on developing a strong number sense as we explore foundational math skills. This beginner's math course starts at the very beginning with numbers up to 5. 

Most Kindergarteners already know numbers beyond 10, however, we will be diving deep into these numbers to build a strong number sense. Your learner will learn what combinations make these numbers and how to quantify them without actually counting. Having a strong number sense makes future, more complicated skills easier to understand. 

Once we lay the foundation for numbers, we will introduce addition up to 10 and subtraction within 10. Learners will also develop a strong number sense with numbers up to 100 as they count by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. 

Lesson Format:
My teaching style is hands-on. I like to use a variety of manipulatives to teach each skill. Your child will learn one skill by using a variety of methods. For example, when learning numbers up to 10, your learner will explore each number using counters, money, tallies, and a tens-frame.

Every week you will receive a PDF with class worksheets. The PDF will also contain extra practice worksheets and game ideas for further practice. These extra practice materials are not mandatory but are HIGHLY encouraged.

No prior knowledge of numbers is needed to begin this course. We will begin with the very basic math skills with numbers up to 5.
