Come journey back in time to the world of the Ancients! This is part 1 of a 2 part hands-on history series covering ancient civilizations from around the world. In this flipped classroom, students will participate in activities, discussions, and projects in class and read, watch video clips and lectures, and view presentations on their own during the rest of the week. Students should expect 1 or 2 hours of outside work a week, although students who want to do more will receive plenty of optional resources!
We will start our journey in Mesopotamia with the Sumerians, and continue on to study Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, the Indus Valley, Ancient Africa, and more.

All the projects should be able to be completed by students of average ability in the target age group independently, although depending on the level of details they want to put into the project they may need extra time after class is over. The class may occasionally go over the allotted time. If your child struggles with dexterity, fine motor skills, or has other learning challenges, or they are younger, they may need parental help (off-camera) Feel free to reach out to the instructor to discuss!
