Hola y Bienvenidos. Was your child born in a bilingual household and understands Spanish but doesn't speak it? Or has your child been taking Spanish classes learning vocabulary, grammar, reading, and writing but has not had the opportunity to practice their speaking skills?  This class is for High intermediate to advanced level pre-teens who want to continue perfecting and improving their Spanish skills while practicing with friends and motivating each other in this journey to Spanish fluency. 

What are the goals throughout this ongoing course? What topics will be covered? 
There are many goals that can be accomplished during this ongoing course and topics I have a list of a million! I have a very creative mind and I am always thinking of something new and different to share with my students. Down below I will share some of the class objectives, goals, and topics that will be touched.
1. Get the kids speaking and using the Spanish language. At times there aren't many opportunities to practice this second language at home. Sometimes kids do not feel comfortable speaking with family members and get stuck on their Spanish level. At times students don't have the ideal situations to speak the language and they don't want to lose the knowledge they have learned.
2. Help boost the student's confidence when speaking Spanish. At times students might feel shy or scared to speak in front of others because they haven't had many opportunities to do it or they are scared of making mistakes or saying something wrong. In my class kids are welcome to feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions because I am here to help them and I want to make this a safe and comfortable learning experience where even fellow classmates can help their friend out if they know the answer!
3. Improve communication skills, listening skills, and gain perspective. Students will be allowed to share their thoughts and opinions about different topics in class and things that they are interested in. Classmates will practice listening before speaking and this way they are improving not just their speaking skills but also their comprehension skills.
4. Meet friends of similar ages that also share similar goals. At times kids feel alone or need more interaction with kids their age that are on the same journey as they are. In this class students will be motivated to be nice to each other, to be motivating and uplifting, to use kind words, and to help each other overall. No bullying will be allowed in class only positive affirmation. 
5. Motivate the child as to why knowing Spanish opens many doors and opportunities. During this ongoing course, I will positively speak about the many ways that knowing more than one language helps us all. I will also talk to the students about scenarios and places where they can use specific vocabulary terms.
6. Set goals for the future! During this course, I will always motivate my students to set goals for themselves and for their future based on their wants and needs. If traveling to a Spanish country is a goal of theirs then I want to hear all about it. During this class, students will get to share their current and future goals as well as goals that they have already completed. 
7. Learn how to be open-minded and intrigued by other countries and cultures. Knowing more than one language has many benefits and some of those are the fact that it opens our mind to accept and learn about new things like culture, food, countries and so much more!

Students will have plenty of opportunities to interact with each other as well as with me because the goal of this course is to get the kids speaking and practicing their Spanish skills. I will choose a wide range of different topics to be discussed during class and I will also allow regular students to choose topics of interest that they would like to talk about or share with the class. All students will need to participate in order to improve their language skills and for me to see where they might be needing help on. We will play games such as "would you rather?", Hangman, crossword puzzles, and much more. I will share PowerPoint slides when needing to show pictures or information and overall we will have a ton of discussion on different topics such as Food, Culture, Goals, Travel, Games, School, Friends, Hobbies, as well as others.

This club is for High intermediate to advanced level teens who want to continue perfecting and improving their Spanish skills. Students will need to communicate in Spanish and have a wide range of vocabulary to put that knowledge to practice throughout this class.
