In this ongoing beginner guitar class, we will learn to play songs and chords. Absolutely no experience is necessary and you can come in and out of class at any time. Sample schedule for the first 4 weeks of class: Week of January 6 - how to hold the guitar, names of the strings, plucking and strumming Week of January 13 - using fingers on the fretboard Week of January 20 - chords & melodies Week of January 27 - One-string songs - We will learn to play a simple song on only one string in this class. The above is only an example as the focus of the class will be learner-directed and subject to change depending on enrollment. All learners MUST have an appropriate size guitar - 3 string guitars are fine for this class, as are 6 string guitars. This class is NOT suitable for ukulele or guitalele. Please message before enrolling if you have any questions.

Students will learn basic guitar skills along with basic music notation as it applies to guitar. Each week will have a different focus and each class will stand alone so that learners will not miss out if they miss a class.
