In this ongoing class, students will learn how to draw the popular Japanese style of Kawaii including the popular Squishmallows. Kawaii & Squishmallow characters are cute, lovable, and simple to draw. At the beginning of class, everyone will introduce themselves and say hello to their kawaii classmates. I'll check in with everyone to make sure they have drawing supplies. I'll then show what we'll be drawing for the day. Depending on the difficulty of the drawing of the day, it may be one or more characters. For example, we might only draw a single kawaii fox one day, and on another, we might draw Squishmallow with different flowers in a garden. My teaching style is high energy and fun. I'll be playing music softly in the background. I have a children-appropriate playlist I use for my dance classes consisting of mostly Disney and Kidzbop tunes. During the drawing portion, I will have one screen with my drawing and another with my face. After we are finished with our drawings, learners have the option to show their drawings to the rest of the class. They will be placed on mute during the drawing portion of the class but if they have questions, they're always welcome to ask. During the beginning and end of class, they're encouraged to chat. This class is for new artists and there are no requirements for the class other than basic drawing materials. Hello! My name is Yvonne Delosreyes aka Ms. Yvonne. I'm the founder of the Groovy Kids Club. I teach yoga, dance, martial arts, and wellness here at Outschool.
I've been a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher for over 10 years. I have over 600 hours of training including certification with Yoga Ed. in Children & Teen Trauma-Informed Yoga.
I've been dancing Hula & Hip Hop since I was in grade school. I've been both a performer and teacher for almost 20 years. I've taught in various educational settings such as private preschools in NYC, international dance academies, and non-profit children's organizations.

I truly believe in the power of mindful movement modalities such as dance and yoga to increase lifelong learning potential for students. My goal as a teacher is to show students the tools available to them in yoga and dance so that they may use them to self-regulate. I help them create a sense of self-awareness of their minds, bodies, and emotions. All the while, having fun and meeting new friends!
