When a student takes this class they can expect a fun and interactive journey through the story of how Hercules faced off against the Lernean Hydra. Class will first begin with a short meet-and-greet. Once acquainted, we will delve into a dramatic telling of some of Hercules' exploits. Images and some video will be shared to help bring the story to life and as the storyteller, my goal will be to use my theatrical and voice-artist background to make the tale memorable. Throughout, students will be encouraged to ask questions and will also be posed questions to test their listening and comprehension skills. Specifically, we will learn about Hercules being tasked by King Eurystheus through a herald named Copreus, the creation of the Hydra by Typhon, Iolaos acting as Hercules' charioteer, Cancer the crab being immortalized by Hera, and finally Hercules disposing of the immortal head of the Hydra.
