Throughout this class, we will discuss graphic design principles at work in Star Wars and how they were leveraged to create the fictional galaxies we grew to love.

We will cover different material each week to keep students interested, however, the prior week's information is not essential to learning, so new students can join at any time.

Weekly Breakdown:

⇢ Week 1: How the skillful usage of typography and color help us *feel* the stories. 

⇢ Week 2: Creation of the iconic Star Wars logo and why it still feels trendy and timeless

⇢ Week 3: Designers at work; how artists helped us stay connected in between films and trilogies

⇢ Week 4: Merchandising and how it built an *empire*

Class Style:

This class is a balanced mix of presentation, discussion, and community building. I use images, examples, and short-length video clips (all TV G-rated) to visualize learning

My Teaching Style:

I am warm, energetic, and welcoming. I aim to keep content light-hearted, fun, and filled with 'Use The Force' moments. Your young padawan can expect to interact with me and peers to share their memories and feelings about the film in opening ice-breakers, fireside chats halfway through the class, and in closing Q&A.

Class Rules:

1. Kind, you must be (yoda voice)
2. No cursing, negative talk
3. Focus on what you love, not what you hate
4. Everyone gets a chance to speak (no cutting off or talking all the time)
