Every day in this summer camp is a crash course in graphic design, brand identity, digital art tools, and marketing strategies-- vital pieces of building a business! You'll learn the skills you need to advertise your business, share on social media, and design professional-looking products. 

Beginners who have not yet mastered any digital art program are welcome! You will learn how to use Canva for text-based graphics and Graphite for logo design and illustrations in class.  I do however STRONGLY recommend you attend the predecessor to this camp, Graphic Design for Beginners - CAMP 1 →

For most lessons we will use Canva: students will need a parent to open an account at Canva.com and install the app if you use an iPad or phone. For logo design and illustrations, make sure https://editor.graphite.rs works in your browser or you have access to another vector art program (see list of Adobe Illustrator alternatives below.)***

Students who are already proficient in at least one digital art program will be MORE successful in this class, but it is NOT required (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Photopea, Krita, Adobe Illustrator, ibisPaint, Medibang, Autodesk Sketchbook, etc.) Students may choose to use the digital art program they are most familiar with *except* when we work on logos for vector art; this project must be completed with a vector art program.

Each class will open with introductions, a quick overview of brand identity as it relates to graphic design concepts, and then a demonstration of how to use Canva, Graphite, and/or Photopea to make the project.


Day 1: Customing Graphics Beyond Canva - Logo Design & Vector Art
 * Brainstorm developing and designing for a new business
 * Intro to Bezier Curves
 * Saving and exporting in Graphite

Day 2: Integrating Custom Graphics in Canva - Logos Design
 * Design a new business, new logo
 * Draw the logo in Graphite
 * Intro to Photopea, Deleting the background from the Logo *.png
 * Import new vector graphic into a new Canva logo template & customize

Day 3: Unique Merch & Product Design - When do I use Canva vs. Photopea/ Photoshop?
 * Design a new product for your business
 * Research label, logo placement on merch
 * Use Photopea/Photoshop or Canva to place label on product

Day 4: Print Advertising in Canva
 * Poster Ads
 * Do's & Don't's
