- Students will receive a comprehensive overview of grammar with a focus on how nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, and various types of clauses and phrases function in a sentence. Students will become more effective writers and speakers through their enhanced knowledge of English grammar. Students will also be better equipped for tests such as the PSAT, SAT, ACT, and state exams.

We will refer several times over the course of the class to "The Elements of Style" by Strunk and White. It is optional whether students choose to obtain their own copy.
