宿題:
週あたり 1-2 時間. Homework will be assigned problems based on class topic of the day. It will be assigned after every class so that learners can reinforce their skills between classes. Students will verify homework completion by video. Answers will be given at the beginning of every class for the student to check for correctness.

Summative assessment by short test during the last 30 minutes of the final class in the 4-class series. Required for all students.

How to solve trigonometric ratios (e.g. sine, cosine, tangent) of angles around the unit circle by forming right triangles with 1 as the hypotenuse will be taught. Topics:

1st Class: Review of basic trigonometric ratios, angles around the unit circle in degrees, angles around the unit circle in radians, converting between degrees and radians, 

2nd Class: Reciprocal trigonometric ratios, deriving the trigonometric ratios of "special angles" (30 degrees, 45 degrees, 60 degree), difference between exact trigonometric ratios and approximate (decimal) ratios, 

3rd Class: Angles in standard position, reference angles, trigonometric ratios of angles that are multiples of the "special angles", CAST rule

4th Class: Review and time for questions. Summative assessment.

The class will be structured by introducing each topic with concept notes and tons of worked examples. Students will get the opportunity to practice what they've learned before going on to the next topic. Furthermore, each student will get to interact and ask clarifying questions as we go through each topic. I expect the class to be slow to average pace, depending on the state of the learner(s).

As part of my teaching style, I love to interact with students and ask questions in order to gauge how much they are learning.

Learners will be able to calculate all the trigonometric ratios of all multiples of the "special angles" in both exact and approximate form for angles in both degrees and radians.

受講の前提条件
Strong familiarity with the basic trigonometric ratios (i.e. sin, cos, tan) and know how to solve problem types using a calculator. Being able to simplify radicals, including rationalizing the denominator, is strongly recommended.
