This course aims to prepare students for 3rd grade math concepts, allowing students to preview concepts introduced in 3rd grade math or prevent "summer slide" as they prepare for 4th grade math. Structurally, we will have two live meetings per week, each 35 minutes. The first half of class will typically be spent with concept exploration discussion using a sample problem or idea generating photo or task. The second half of the class will cover application of concepts through grade level math problems related to the class content. After class the student will be assigned and assessment/practice to help guide the next lesson. By week 6 of the course, we will have covered most of the foundational skills to prepare for 3rd grade math. Based on the results, I will be able to offer a personalized study plan focused on any remaining points of growth.

I'm Ms. C! My primary goal is to make learning both fun and easy for learners and parents.
Before joining the Outschool community, I had the opportunity to teach students in grades K-6 in the classroom and most recently have worked with teachers and administration to provide support in developing math curriculum and classrooms environments, as a network Math Coach.
I have a B.A Sociology with a concentration in Child and Family Studies, along with 10+years teaching in the classroom.
