In this engaging, hands-on art class, learners will explore key geometry concepts through fun and creative drawing projects. We’ll blend math and art as we dive into topics like symmetry, angles, tessellations, mandalas, polygons, and patterns—using simple tools like a ruler and compass to create beautiful geometric designs.

This class is designed for learners who enjoy visual, tactile, and imaginative work. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to explore, draw, and have fun! Each class session introduces a new design style or math concept through a short visual presentation and live, step-by-step instruction. I use a document camera so learners can clearly see my drawing process, and there’s plenty of time for questions, feedback, and sharing art.

My teaching style is upbeat, supportive, and interactive. I incorporate check-in questions, creativity prompts, and encouragement to help each learner feel confident and inspired. Participation is always welcome but never pressured—every learner can engage at their own comfort level.

This class is especially well-suited for visual and kinesthetic learners and those who benefit from structure, creativity, and a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

Week 4 May 24th-May30th: Tessellation Town – Designing repeating shape patterns inspired by Escher
