No current background knowledge is needed for this course- just a curiosity for science and a natural talent for art! This work can be frustrating at times, but once you get it, it can be so very rewarding! Even though this class is only 8 weeks long and is NOT a licensing program, you will be exposed to several topics in the nail industry including acrylic application and nail art!

Teaching Approach and Structure:

We will begin with an icebreaker or related discussion question.
The class will then have a short lecture on the topic and take notes (draw pictures, define key terms, sequence important steps)

Student Practical 
I will have a document camera attached to my computer for a clear and zoomed in experience for the learners. They can ask questions and show me their work throughout the lesson. It is highly encouraged. (Students will also be talked through their processes and given reminders and they practice the craft). I am very animated and silly and come up with clever ways for students to remember the material. 

Reteaching and Reviewing will end the class for the day. I will also give the homework assignments for students to practice and have ready for the next class. Because each lesson builds upon the next, it is crucial that students practice and bring their best to the next meeting. 
For example, If we are working in nail art for the next class, the homework may be to prepare 5 sculpted nails to complete the art on. If you are just beginning, this could take multiple hours to perfect and we only have one hour together per session, so we must maximize our time.
