This Camp will assimilate real life budgeting and allow the learner to get a better idea of maintaining a budget as an adult.   The learner will create a budget project that will be guided by the teacher using daily discussions. The learner must keep track of their income and expenses and balance their budget.  A Life's Vision Board will also be completed at the end of camp.

Day 1:  Finding a Job:  Learners will use a worksheet to describe what they want to be when they grow up.  They will list their strengths and weaknesses and how they want to improve in certain areas .  A list of common jobs and salaries will be provided by the teacher.  From the list, the learner will complete a job application for their selected job, They will complete their tax form and sign up for medical insurance.  The teacher will go over the steps and give the learners the opportunity to complete the necessary forms during class.  They can always complete the forms after class if there is not enough time or can continue in the next class.  
Day 2:  The learners will select a place to live and be provided with the amount  needed for their mortgage or rent.  A variation of dwellings will be provided for the learner to choose from.  They will also be given options for their utility bills.
Day 3:  They will select a car and be given the amount to budget for mandatory car insurance. Student loan information will be provided (if applicable).  A monthly food budget will be created based on the learner's eating habits. Furniture and additional items will be selected.
Day 4: Students will be given a list of 12 unexpected items that can pop up in life.  Student will be instructed to select the item that correlates with the month they are born.  For example, if the learner was born in June, the correlated unexpected event is having a flat tire and needing to buy a new one. Learners  will also be given the opportunity to make charitable donations.  Finally, learners will be given the opportunity to budget  for entertainment.  After all the numbers are in place, the learner must Balance their Budget (must equal 0). Any remaining money must go into savings to save for vacations, a rainy day, and other wants.
Day 5:  Students will use this day to start working on their Life's Vision Board.  Instructions will be given by the teacher.  
Day 6:  On the last day of the camp, the learners will be given time to present and discuss their individual budget projects and show their Life's Vision Boards.
