Authors use similes, metaphors, hyperbole, personification, etc. to make their stories more interesting. They can be challenging to understand if you are thinking of the literal meaning of the words. In this class we learn about each type of figurative language through discussions, presentations,...
Students will learn about 7 types of figurative language. We will create a flipbook with a definition and examples of similes, metaphors, hyperbole, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, and idioms, while we watch some silly videos and have discussions about each type.
クラス登録時に 1 の学習素材が提供されますStudents will receive the flipbook once enrolled in class. They will need to print it out on colored or white paper, and put together the flipbook before class begins. Cut the pages across the bottom, right below the big bold word on each page. Trim edges to make pages the same size. Put together the flipbook and staple it. I have included an example picture to help you. (If for some reason you cannot put it together, make sure your child has a stapler, and I will show them in class.) Students will also need a pen or pencil, and maybe some markers or crayons for class to complete the flipbook.
