Let's Learn AP Calculus! Part 3: Applications of Derivatives

In Part 3 we will focus on understanding applications of derivatives to real-world contexts through the following objectives:
Week 1. Interpreting Derivatives and Solving Related Rates
Week 2. Secants, Tangents, and the Mean Value Theorem
Week 3. First Derivatives, Critical Values, and Extrema
Week 4. Second Derivatives, Inflection Points, and Concavity
Week 5. Curve sketching and connecting a function to its derivatives
*Students currently taking or who have previously taken a Calculus course can enroll without taking Parts 1-2

Each 55-minute class will follow a similar structure:
Warm up with an open-ended question that introduces the core concept
A hands-on activity to explore the concept and build understanding from the student perspective
Structured notes with examples led by the teacher
Practice problems including AP Practice questions that can be completed in class or independently
