Each learner will be assigned their own personalized checklist based off of their specific needs and ability level. An assignment will either be complete or incomplete. This structured & explicit writing course, based on IEW’s Fables, Myths, and Fairy Tales Writing Lessons, is designed specifically for students who now read at a Grade 4+ level and need extra support in writing with a certified teacher experienced in literacy intervention. 🔹 Who Is This Class For? ✅ Students who have completed reading intervention and are ready to strengthen writing skills ✅ Learners with dyslexia or reading challenges who need step-by-step, structured instruction ✅ Students who want a supportive & engaging writing program meeting 2x per week 📚 What to Expect: ✔️ LIVE group classes 2x per week for 29 weeks (58 sessions) 🎥 ✔️ Explicit instruction on writing structure & stylistic techniques ✔️ Step-by-step modeling & guided practice ✔️ Personalized feedback on every assignment ✍️ ✔️ Individualized checklists for learners who need extra challenge or support ✔️ Homework included—writing is a skill that improves with practice! 📖 IEW’s “EZ+1” Approach – We’ll ensure writing techniques feel easy before adding new skills. No need for perfection—just progress and confidence building! 💪 📌 Grammar Recommendation: 1️⃣To strengthen writing skills, IEW recommends pairing this class with Fix It! Grammar: Nose Tree (Level 1). You can complete it at home or enroll in my Outschool grammar course! 2️⃣If you've already completed Nose Tree (Level 1), you can enroll in Fix It! This IEW class is specifically tailored to learners who have struggled with reading and writing due to dyslexia or other reading/writing difficulties. Although the format and pacing is set with these challenges in mind, anyone can join.
受講の前提条件
No previous IEW experience required. A learner needs to be able to read at a grade 4 USA level.
If a learner has had prior Barton or other structured literacy tutoring, they must have completed Level 4 of the Barton program or equivalent.

You will need to purchase this student book from IEW before the class begins: https://iew.com/fables-myths-and-fairy-tales-writing-lessons-student-book-only I recommend also purchasing the portable walls and/or grammar writing cards. If it is your first time using IEW, the Teacher Manual may be handy if you would like to further support your child at home but this is optional.

We will be using the IEW source text materials from the Fables, Myths, and Fairy Tales writing program. Source texts include: a variety of Aesop fables, a variety of Greek myths, a variety of fairy tales (i.e. The Brothers Grimm & Hans Christian Andersen).
