Welcome to Ms. Abby's 1st-grade class! I am excited to meet your learner and help them build essential first-grade skills. In this class, we will learn about a different animal each week. We will also develop reading, math, and writing skills, as well as explore science and geography. In this class, we will meet for 30 minutes, four times a week. Each day, we will work on first-grade skills to prepare for the start of first grade. On Thursday, we will be doing either an art or a science activity. Ms. Abby will provide the additional supplies needed for the science project. Please note that parents have the option to contribute supplies if they wish. Thursday will also have a show and tell. Hello, and welcome to my class! I'm Abby. I have over 30 years experience working with children ages 2-16. For many years, I was the co-owner, director of instruction, and lead teacher for J & A Daycare Center. I also have many years of experience caring for and teaching children through nannying and private home daycare, including children on the autism spectrum. (I have such a heart for children with special needs!) For the past five years, it has been my joy to homeschool my 20-year-old daughter. It is exciting to see her thriving and enjoying learning!
My teaching style is warm, creative, and fun. I am passionate about teaching young children! I love to encourage children and make sure they feel welcome. My goal for my classes is for every child to walk away smiling and feeling like they had a good time!
My husband, daughter and I make our home in Athens, GA. I enjoy wood painting, coloring, cooking, and crafts. I am so excited to meet and teach your child!レビュー
