As a certified elementary teacher, experienced in student inquiry, I will build upon your child's love of animals! Each class, students will learn some fun facts about a weekly mystery animal. I will choose the animal for our first class.  Then we will make a list of what animals the students would like to learn and draw about. Each week, I will choose one of the animals off of our list to be the mystery animal.  They will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their own knowledge of our animal of the week. The students will then learn how to draw the animal step-by step, through directed drawing.  Using my own easel, I will give your child step by step instructions to help them create their own adorable drawing. Directed drawing is beneficial to children because it helps to develop listening skills, focus and creativity.  As well, your child will gain confidence in their ability to create beautiful art.  If there is time, drawings may be coloured or painted and shared. 
We will learn & draw about a different animal each week.
