What will be taught?
The English Literature Book Club will focus on classic and contemporary novels, allowing students to explore themes, character development, and societal impacts through group discussions and critical analysis.

What topics will I cover?
Key topics include:
- The distinction between classic and contemporary literature
- Social justice and morality (via To Kill a Mockingbird)
- Hysteria and power dynamics (via The Crucible)
- Societal expectations and character development (via Pride and Prejudice)

How is the class structured?
The class will consist of 60-minute weekly online sessions over eight weeks. Each session will include a discussion of the assigned reading, encouraging students to share insights, ask questions, and engage with one another. Readings will be assigned at the end of each session for the following week.

How will I teach?
I will utilize a combination of guided discussions, open dialogue, and targeted questions to encourage student participation. The online format will allow for the use of discussion boards and breakout rooms for smaller group conversations. I'll also provide prompts to help stimulate thought and engagement with the material.

What is my teaching style?
My teaching style is interactive and student-centered, emphasizing collaboration and open dialogue. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their ideas and opinions while developing critical thinking skills. I will facilitate discussions rather than lecture, allowing students to take an active role in their learning.

How much will learners get to interact with me and how?
Learners will have ample opportunities to interact with me during weekly sessions through discussions and Q&A segments. I encourage students to share their thoughts during class and will provide feedback on their contributions to foster a rich learning experience.

教師の専門知識と資格
Hello! My name is Audrey Brice, and I’ve been a public school teacher for 4 years. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to teach all grade levels, from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. My true passion lies in teaching a wide range of subjects including U.S. History, Art History, English Literature, and even leading book club-style classes where students dive deep into discussions.

As a teacher, I hold high expectations for my students and firmly believe that every learner has the ability to succeed. My teaching philosophy centers on discovering what excites and interests my students, using those insights to create engaging and meaningful learning experiences. I aim to empower each student by tapping into their unique strengths, making learning both enjoyable and achievable.

On a personal note, I recently welcomed a beautiful baby girl in February, and she’s been my greatest joy and inspiration. Outside of the classroom, I love to spend time with her and enjoy a good cup of coffee while catching up on a new book!

Looking forward to learning and growing with you!
