Welcome to Outschool ESL assessment for ESL students. This is a 1:1 meeting where each student's English is assessed based on their reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills. The session will begin with some warm-up questions for ice-breaking, such as talking about each learner's aspirations, to casual talk about the weather, favorite color, sports played, etc. 

Learners will then ease into some vocabulary to determine how they do with recognizing words. During this time, learners will also be asked to create sentences to any random words appointed by the teacher. Along side this, learners will also engage in reading a few short passages from one or two pieces of literature provided on hand. Each student is required to read aloud, answer any questions about the material, and share any reflections they have of the reading.

Last but not least, the writing section will be assessed on each learner's writing ability in English. Things considered are proper usage of verbs and tenses, spelling, punctuation, flow of writing, etc. This last part will vary for each learner as it will depend on the child's writing skill and pace.
