This class explores forms of energy. Students also delve into forms of potential energy such as chemical and nuclear and forms of kinetic energy such as thermal, light, sound, radiant, and electrical. The class stands out by incorporating hands-on investigations and real-world case studies to illustrate these energies. Through interactive activities and labs, students will develop a deeper understanding of energy forms. This course is structured with lecture notes followed by activities relevant to the notes that have students recall knowledge, then apply knowledge, then create something to show their knowledge. Each day, students will move through a few engaging activities relevant to the day's topics. Students will interact via online lecture notes, games, activities, labs, and videos. My teaching style is engaging, student-centered, and interactive, focused on creating meaningful connections between theoretical concepts and real-world applications. I emphasize hands-on learning through activities and labs that encourage critical thinking and active participation. I accommodate diverse learning styles, fostering an inclusive environment where students feel supported in exploring complex topics.

For optional kinetic energy lab part 1: Students will need: 2 beakers, hot water, cold water, battery, wires, battery powered clock, energy stick, petri dish, paper hole punches, rubber glove, mini guitar, tuning fork, speaker, and glitter. For optional kinetic energy lab part 2: Students will need: remote, camera, prism, white paper, flashlight, pencil, beaker of water, index card with an arrow on it. For optional potential energy worksheet: Students will need: compound building set and glowsticks.
