**PLEASE NOTE** This is a SELF-PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. THIS MEANS STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE PRE-RECORDED VIDEO. There are no live meetings. All interactions between students and the teacher will happen on the class page. This class will be presented via pre-recorded drawing instruction. Week 1Lesson 1Drawing the Anime PortraitStudents will be introduced to the characteristics of the popular cartooning style called Anime (Manga) and draw a self-portrait (or simply a portrait) in Anime style.Lesson 2Coloring the Anime PortraitStudents will learn several different coloring techniques (the teacher will use colored pencils) to enhance the look of their anime portrait.
- Students will learn the basic shapes and designs for drawing facial features in Anime style.
- Students will learn a variety of Anime hairstyles.
- Students will create a portrait (or self portrait) in Anime style.
As a licensed art teacher, I have developed techniques for breaking down drawing lessons into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Once we get the basics done, I give my students freedom to complete their project using their own imagination, thereby giving them the opportunity to take what I have taught them to a different, fun and creative level.
Pencils, eraser, pencil sharpener permanent black drawing marker (Sharpie, Micron, or any permanent black pen) colored pencils, markers, etc. Paper (drawing paper, sketch pad, or printer paper is fine)
